This strategic move signals the anticipated global rollout of this new variant.
Currently, the Land Cruiser 300, across its various configurations, remains inaccessible in several other markets. In Western Europe and North America, consumers will continue to select the more opulent Lexus LX or the somewhat smaller Prado, with no alterations to the existing market strategies.
Twin-Turbo V6 Engine with Electric Assistance in the Most Powerful Toyota Land Cruiser
The Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid emerges as the most formidable version thus far, featuring a comprehensive output of 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque. These impressive metrics are delivered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which operates in concert with a single electric motor positioned between the combustion engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission, facilitating power distribution to all four wheels. Toyota asserts that this high-performance hybrid offers up to 40% enhanced acceleration compared to the standard 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel or gasoline variant. The electric motor's contributions extend beyond mere figures, enhancing throttle response and providing smoother torque delivery, along with the capability of operating solely on electric power at speeds reaching 30 km/h, owing to its nickel-metal hydride battery.
To uphold the Land Cruiser's esteemed off-road legacy
To uphold the Land Cruiser's esteemed off-road legacy, the battery is encased in a sealed and waterproof housing, allowing for a maximum wading depth of 700 mm without any compromises. Toyota assures that the hybrid has undergone extensive testing globally, showcasing its formidable off-road proficiency with confidence.
The vehicle’s off-road features remain intact, including diverse driving modes for varying terrains, complemented by a new electric power steering system aimed at improving precision and control across a range of surfaces.
Three Hybrid Trims for the European Market
In the European market, the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid will be offered in three primary trims: the VX as the entry-level model, the ZX positioned centrally, and the GR Sport, which is tailored for more rigorous use. Each trim is limited to a five-seat configuration, foregoing a third-row option.
In addition to offering a robust standard equipment list
In addition to offering a robust standard equipment list, even the VX trim includes features such as 18-inch wheels, a powered liftgate, full LED headlights, two 12.3-inch displays, a 14-speaker JBL sound system, four-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, and a 1500-watt power outlet.
Upgrading to the ZX trim introduces even more technological and luxury enhancements, such as adaptive suspension, a five-mode drive selector, a head-up display, a foot-activated liftgate, and a limited-slip rear differential.
The GR Sport trim retains its rugged essence with unique bumpers, grilles, and wheel arches, alongside custom 18-inch wheels, and incorporates the advanced e-KDSS system, which allows for the electronic detachment of anti-roll bars, thereby maximizing wheel articulation on challenging terrains.
