Cabinet Approves Red Sea Land for Green Hydrogen Project
Egypt’s Cabinet approved the allocation of state-owned land in the Red Sea Governorate for a green hydrogen project.
The decision came during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, aimed at supporting clean energy development.
Land Assigned for Green Hydrogen Infrastructure
A presidential decree allocates multiple plots to the General Authority for Red Sea Ports.
The land will host facilities for green hydrogen production, transportation, and power supply.
Sites and Facilities for Green Hydrogen
Production Plant
251.73 acres are designated for the main green hydrogen plant, including electrolysis units and production infrastructure.
Marine Berth
50.17 acres are assigned for a marine berth to support logistics and potential export of green hydrogen.

Electricity Line
173.92 acres will be used for an electricity transmission line, ensuring renewable energy supply to the green hydrogen facility.
