Devastating plane crash in California leaves six dead

A plane crashed into a Southern California field on Saturday morning and caught fire, killing six people.

The plane caught fire and burned nearly an acre of farmland before crashing near the airport in Marietta, Riverside County, southwestern California, according to the Associated Press.

A video shows a completely burned and charred plane in the middle of a field and a police car at the crash site.

KTLA reported that the plane took off from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas before crashing into the airport.

The agency said the plane was a Cessna C550 business class.

The plane was found on fire shortly after 4:15 a.m., and all six people on board were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The identity of those who died in the accident has not been revealed.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the Federal Aviation Administration.
