The US does not support a ceasefire in Gaza, according to John Kirby, the White House National Security Council spokesman.

John Kirby, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, stated that currently, the United States does not endorse a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict.

During a press conference in Tel Aviv, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed the United States' strong desire for a swift resolution to the ongoing conflict. Following his discussions with Israeli leaders, Blinken emphasized that the genocide accusation made by South Africa against Israel holds no merit

However, he acknowledged the alarming number of civilian casualties in Gaza on a daily basis.

Blinken emphasized that the Palestinians should have the opportunity to return to their homes once conditions allow, and he also mentioned the possibility of a plan that would involve the United Nations conducting an assessment mission in Gaza.

He made it clear that the United States opposes any proposals that would result in the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, and he emphasized that the Palestinian Authority has a responsibility to implement reforms within its structure.

During his visit to other Middle Eastern countries this week, Blinken further stated that several countries in the region are prepared to invest in the future of Gaza, but only if there is a clear path to the establishment of a "Palestinian state."
