The British government has declared that the price limit on Russian oil, imposed by the G7 and other nations, continues to negatively impact Moscow's energy earnings.
According to the British Treasury's statement, Russian oil export revenues experienced a decrease of $10 billion (€9 billion) on an annual basis as of the end of last July. Furthermore, revenue fell by $1.5 billion (€1.36 billion) between May and June alone.
The ministry also cited the "Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air," stating that the daily price ceiling on crude oil costs Russia approximately €160 million. Russian government sources revealed that Moscow's energy sector revenues in the first quarter of this year were 45 percent lower compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, a Russian oil tanker was damaged in the Kerch Strait due to an attack by Ukrainian drones, causing a temporary halt in traffic on the strategic bridge connecting Crimea to Russia.
The Maritime Rescue Center confirmed the tanker's damage and stated that two tugboats were dispatched to the scene.
Fortunately, no material leaked from the tanker, which had 11 crew members aboard.
The vessel in question, a SIG oil and chemical tanker, is subject to US sanctions for supplying fuel to warplanes in Syria, as reported by The Moscow Times.
Vladimir Rogov, a Russian official in Ukraine's Zaporizhia region, reported that several crew members were injured by shattered glass during the attack.
Rogov also mentioned that the explosion on the ship was visible from the Crimean peninsula, leading residents to believe it occurred near the Crimean bridge.
Traffic on the Moscow-annexed peninsula's bridge was suspended for approximately three hours before resuming early on Saturday, according to the Highway Information Center on Telegram.
The tracking website "Marine Traffic" displayed the SIG tanker as stationary, surrounded by two tugboats south of the strait.
This latest incident in the Black Sea coincides with Ukraine's announcement of a drone strike on a Russian warship at a Black Sea base, while Russia confirmed successfully repelling airstrikes on Crimea, which it annexed.
