A Pentagon official revealed that the President's administration, Donald Trump, is considering adding "SMIC", one of the largest Chinese chipmaker, to the commercial blacklists, according to Reuters.
The United States has recently taken escalating measures against a number of Chinese companies.
A spokeswoman for the Pentagon said that the ministry is working with other agencies to determine whether to take action against the "SMIC" company.
And if blacklisted, US suppliers would be required to obtain a special license before shipping to the company.
SMIC did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.
In August, Washington imposed sanctions on the Chinese telecommunications group "Huawei" and 38 of its subsidiaries, to limit their access to US technology.
Last year, Huaweiwas banned from accessing US components and technology, including Google's music service and other smartphone services, last year.
These restrictions were tightened in May, when the White House banned vendors and producers around the world from using US technology to produce components for Huawei equipment.
