Zoox, a subsidiary of Amazon, obtained a permit from the California authorities to test its self-driving cars, without a spare driver inside the car on some roads.
Amazon acquired Zoox, a startup last June, as part of its autonomous driving technology expansion.
Amazon invested $ 35 million in another startup, Aurora Innovation, last year and is also involved in self-driving car technology.
And Amazon and its founder Jeff Bezos, during the company's 26-year history, broke many boundaries and records, so we can get to know the most important information about this company.
Bezos, who has been on the throne of the world's richest since 2017, last month became the first person whose fortune exceeded the $ 200 billion barrier, with the company's stock rapidly increasing since the coronavirus crisis.
Most of Bezos's wealth comes from his shares in Amazon, even after his stake in the company fell by about a quarter to only 11%, following the settlement of his divorce from his wife MacKenzie last year, which was also the most expensive divorce settlement in history.
Amazon came to the top of the beneficiaries of thecoronavirus pandemic, as the acceleration of consumers' trend to electronic shopping led to the company achieving record sales in the second quarter of 2020 amounting to $ 88 billion, or 40% higher than its profits in the corresponding quarter of last year.
