Official data showed that China's production of 10 major non-ferrous metals increased by 3.3 percent year on year to reach 39.89 million tons during the first eight months of 2020.
The new China News Agency (Xinhua) quoted the National Bureau of Statistics as saying that the growth rate was 3.1 percent in the January-July period, and 2.9 percent in the first half of the year.
The ten major non-ferrous metals include copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, antimony, mercury, magnesium and titanium.
In August alone, the combined production of the ten minerals reached 5.29 million tons, up 6.9 percent from the previous year.
